Ana Carolina is a Neurofunctional Physiotherapist and graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy in Brazil 2001. She obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy Applied to Pediatric Neurorehabilitation, when she studied more about children’s neurological disorders, methods and assessment techniques, treatment planning in child neurological rehabilitation, and theoretical basis of neurorehabilitation. She had the amazing opportunity to practice physiotherapy for pediatric neurology in ambulatory and hospital. Ana concluded her Master’s in Medical Sciences at University of Campinas – School of Medical Sciences – Neurology Department.
Ana is a Physiotherapist with multiple years of experience treating infants, children, and preteens with neurological conditions. She has experience in a variety of settings including outpatient neurological rehabilitation, hospital, school assistance, child treatment centers, home care, hydrotherapy, and equine therapy. Ana is trained as an aquatic therapist by CARI. (Canadian Aquatic Rehab Instructors.)
Ana has participated in many postgraduate and congresses courses to improve her training in the best care for children with motor and sensory-motor physical disabilities. Her post-graduate training includes courses and certifications in:
Ana believes in EBP (evidence-based practice) as an approach to guide clinical decisions, therefore she uses her experience, available scientific evidence and considers personal goals of the family and child when treating her patients. Ana emphasizes the child’s active abilities and always tries to make physiotherapy treatment sessions pleasant, fun, and clear.
Ana is also a busy, but very happy mother of two amazing boys and a sweet little girl.
